Phillips Plastics enjoyed their fifth annual Open Day on Thursday at their factory base in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. A very British affair was the theme this year, following on from the recent Royal Wedding. Phillips entertained their customers and guests with a traditional British Tea party spread complete with bunting and some fun and games. Amongst the attractions customers could win some champagne in the prize draw, have their photo taken alongside the Royal couple on the Buckingham Palace balcony, or on a Triumph motorbike parading down The Mall. The Phillips Plastics team were all on hand to demonstrate and give tours, Keith demonstrating foil blocking, making everyone a swish union jack notebook with a foil blocked bookmark. Natalie demonstrating her skills on the hot welding machine, Chris on die cutting and finishing, Richard Garratt demonstrated the amazing web site technology of how the entire back catalogue of previous products ordered is now available to online for anyone to search. Plus the day was all filmed by Phillips resident camera man Andy. Customers arrived as a steady stream all day, the general feedback was “Another fantastic day from Phillips, there is no substitute for actually seeing the materials and products, these events offer great inspiration for future briefs and ideas and everyone at Phillips is very friendly.”
Managing Director Peter Phillips remarked “The day has been a great success, the staff have all rallied round and got involved in the event, they love meeting the customers and thanks to everyone who supported the day. Each year we come up with a different theme, any guesses what it will be next year… (2012!)
